Common Error Codes & Resolutions

A troubleshooting manual for common portal error codes, rate limits, browser storage issues, and API gateway timeouts.

When interacting with the EasyDev Customer Portal or backend gateways, you might occasionally encounter error alerts. This guide details our common system error codes and explains how to resolve them.

1. Gateway Timeout (504 Gateway Timeout)

  • What it means: The API Gateway (web-agency-backend-api) did not receive a response from a downstream microservice (e.g., the auto-apply engine or AI model) within the allowed timeout window.
  • Common Causes: Running a massive bulk ATS scan of multiple resumes simultaneously, or high traffic spikes.
  • Resolution:
    1. Wait 15–30 seconds and refresh your browser.
    2. If uploading a resume, check that the file size is under 5MB and retry the upload.

2. Invalid Input Validation (422 Unprocessable Entity)

  • What it means: The JSON payload sent by your browser failed to pass our Zod validation schemas.
  • Common Causes: Submitting an invalid phone number format, or a required field left blank.
  • Resolution:
    • Verify the fields in the checkout or contact form.

3. Session Expired (401 Unauthorized)

  • What it means: Your JWT access token cookie is missing, expired, or has an invalid signature.
  • Common Causes: Staying idle on the dashboard for more than 24 hours.
  • Resolution:
    • Click Log Out in the sidebar.
    • Clear your browser cookies and site data for easydev.in.
    • Log in again to issue a fresh secure session cookie.

4. Permission Denied (403 Forbidden)

  • What it means: Your user account is authenticated, but your access role does not have the required permissions claim to run the action.
  • Common Causes: A team member trying to disconnect WhatsApp channels or edit billing cards without having admin clearance.
  • Resolution:
    • Ask your workspace Admin to upgrade your role permissions under the Team Members settings tab.

5. Rate Limit Exceeded (429 Too Many Requests)

  • What it means: The API Gateway has throttled your browser requests because you have sent too many requests in a short time frame.
  • Common Causes: Refreshing pages rapidly or configuring automated scraping bots on our APIs.
  • Resolution:
    • Wait for exactly 60 seconds for the rate limiting window to clear.
    • If running API queries, space out your calls to stay under our threshold (max 200 requests per minute per IP).

6. Bad Gateway (502 Bad Gateway)

  • What it means: The gateway received an invalid or empty response from our load balancers.
  • Common Causes: Downstream servers undergoing rolling deployments or routine maintenance.
  • Resolution:
    • Check our Live Status Page to confirm if there is an active service outage.
    • If systems are operational, clear your browser cache and force-refresh (Ctrl + F5 or Cmd + Shift + R).

7. Frequently Asked Questions (Troubleshooting)
